In our mission to create lasting change in the lives of people in Southwestern Pennsylvania, we find, fund, and partner with
the most effective and efficient local organizationsthat create real opportunities and get real results.
We fund over two dozen organizations in Westmoreland, Fayette and Southern Armstrong through our Impact Fund grants.
These partner agencies help us prepare more students to succeed in school, help families break the cycle of poverty and help seniors, people with disabilities and everyone in our community live their healthiest life.
We're all in this together. Learn more about how your organization can partner with and receive funding from United Way.
CURRENT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, United Way released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for its Income Focus Area Impact Fund Grant.
Grants will be awarded for a period of three years, with annual renewals based on the availability of Impact Funds, program performance and compliance with the terms of the grant agreement.
The three year grant period begins July 1, 2018 and ends June 30, 2021.
The first step of the application process is to submit a Letter of Inquiry by January 5, 2018.
We award Impact Fund grants to qualified local nonprofits in Westmoreland, Fayette and Southern Armstrong Counties.
We aware Impact Fund grants in three key focus areas: education, income/financial stability and health. Each focus area grant runs on a three year cycle.
Prior to starting a new grant cycle, we assemble a committee of community volunteers to review funding priorities and impact strategies.
After their review is complete, we launch a competitive Request for Proposal process that is guided by our Grant Review committee, comprised of community leaders and stakeholders.
