Jim Morrison, who served as board chair of the United Way of Westmoreland County and then of the local operating board of United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, February 24.
United Way is deeply saddened to lose a good friend, wise mentor and staunch United Way champion.
Jim had been a dedicated donor, volunteer, board leader and friend. In addition to serving as board chair, he served on the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania regional board and numerous committees and special initiatives during his seven years with the United Way, including the merger design team to form United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. We have so greatly benefited from his quiet commitment; he deeply understood and cared about United Way’s work and the community.
The United Way board and staff send our condolences to Jim’s wife Patsy and his family. Friends who wish to make a contribution in memory of Jim Morrison may do so by clicking the link below, calling our office at 724-834-7170 or by mailing a contribution.
