Faith in Action

Helping older adults maintain their health, happiness and independence.

Southwestern Pennsylvania has one of the largest populations of older adults in the country. Many live on their own at home - and want to stay that way - but just need a little bit of help.

Faith in Action makes this wish come true for thousands of local seniors every year. Faith in Action allows older adults to live safely and securely in their own homes by matching participants with trained and compassionate volunteers. Volunteers provide free, non-medical services like home safety checks, appointment escorts, rides for errands and shopping, home visits, caregiver relief, telephone reassurance and more. With the help of volunteers, older adults can maintain their quality of life and independence.

And this little extra support goes a long way. Since the program began, Faith in Action has provided over 100,000 hours of volunteer service for almost 2,500 older adults through 1,000 volunteers. The program has saved our community millions in long-term care costs.
