Community Impact

Community Impact is our way of making a measurable and lasting difference in our community.

United Way of Westmoreland County continually conducts targeted needs assessments in our community. After an extensive review of county demographics, surveys of community leaders and influencers and forums with key business leaders, our Impact Committee and Board of Directors set three core objectives in areas of greatest need for change. These areas provide a powerful lense that focuses our communities' resources for measurable change with targets for success through 2014.

Targeted Areas:

These selected areas of focus address critical and growing needs in our community.

  • Success in Learning and Life
  • Enriching academic and social development for all youth so they are ready for work and life
  • Basic Needs and Financial Stability
  • Helping families in need and creating paths to family financial stability
  • Health Access and Independence
  • Supporting seniors and vulnerable populations living safe, healthy and independent
Organizations and agencies funded under the Impact model, received three-year grants. Our plan is to generate systemic change over the long term in these areas of critical need.
